How to read exchange rates
NBU and bank rates
The NBU rate is an official reference value effective on a date. Banks set their own buy and sell prices, which may differ from the official rate.
Buy and sell: whose perspective?
Labels are from the bank’s perspective. If you sell dollars, the bank buys them: use the Buy column. If you buy dollars, use Sell.
Why rates differ
Cash at a branch, in-app exchange and card payments may have different terms. Compare the same types and confirm the actual rate with the bank.
Sources and updates
We check the NBU daily, PrivatBank every 15 minutes and monobank every 10 minutes. Errors increase the interval. Opening this page does not query banks: visitors receive stored Porahuy data.
